The unprecedented advancement of Information & Communication Technology has transformed the world into a 'Global Village'. Free flow of ICT is now the demand of new millennium. No country can survive keeping itself distanced from this modern trend. Under the dynamic leadership of Honourable Prime Minister ,Begum Khaleda Zia, our Government is committed to march forward to meet the need of our time.We are also giving due emphasis on the effective and proper development of Information and Communication Technology in this country in line with the developments in the rest of the world.

The present government has taken various steps to carry forward the sector of ICT and providing training for  thousands of young and the entrepreneurial in this sector in an effort to mobilize software as well as hardware production and data management as a means to further our exports to western markets in the context of the changing scenario in the trade regime as a consequence of globalization and the 11th September factor in the US and its impact on our Ready Made Garments (RMG) sector.

The Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology is relentlessly working as the hub of this new Technology to spread it around the countryside of Bangladesh in the shortest possible time. The Ministry has already set up  an ICT  Incubator and is also planning to create a Hi -Tech Park in order to promote ICT related investment in the private sector from home and abroad and thus boost our economy and provide a new direction for our future generations.
